The security staff from The Fountain Wine Bar, Chingford will be running in the Brentwood Half Marathon this Sunday the 24th in aid of raising money for Alfie Thorn.

Alfie suffers with Loeys-Dietz Syndrome which is a Genetic disorder that leaves him prone to vascular and tissue problems including life threatening aneurysms, this leaves Alfie struggling for his breath and doctors have advised that he will be wheel chair bound within a year.

The syndrome is so rare that staff at Great Ormond Street Hospital have told Alfie’s parents that they believe Alfie to be the only confirmed case in the UK, as a result of the syndrome Alfie has developed an aortic aneurysm-a dangerous build up pressure in the wall of his main heart vessel.

Alfie has to attend Great Ormond Street Hospital for treatment every week and is currently on the heart transplant list.

SGC Security Services are proud to be sponsoring the staff involved in this event.

If you would like to sponsor the staff running on Sunday or would like further information, please contact Peter Horner on 07711 358163.
